Macao, August 25th (Xinhua) - The Macao SAR government held a ceremony on the 25th to award the commemorative medal for the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Macao SAR Chief Executive Cen Haohui presented commemorative medals to Ms. Wu Qinghua, a family member of martyr Wu Fengyu, and Ms. Liang Fengwen, a family member of martyr Cai Jun.

Zheng Xincong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macau, Liu Xianfa, Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau, and Dai Jinsong, Deputy Commander of the People's Liberation Army in Macau, attended the commemorative medal awarding ceremony.

Cen Haohui stated in his speech that during the Anti Japanese War, the compatriots in Macau were in a special environment, but they always cared about their motherland and actively supported the war through various means. At the critical moment of the Chinese nation's salvation and survival, the vast number of Macao compatriots have demonstrated the close relationship between Macao and the motherland through practical actions, reflecting the strong patriotism and mission of Macao compatriots, and making vivid annotations to the great spirit of the Anti Japanese War.

Cen Haohui stated that the SAR government has set up a cross departmental working group, focusing on the theme of "remembering history, honoring martyrs, cherishing peace, and creating the future", carefully preparing a series of activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Anti Japanese War, guiding Macao compatriots to truly understand and practice the spirit of the Anti Japanese War, especially by deeply exploring the local historical resources of the Anti Japanese War in Macao, continuing the tradition of patriotism, unity, and struggle, inspiring Macao compatriots' sense of identity, belonging, and national pride, and inspiring the younger generation to always resonate with the motherland and achieve common development of individuals and the country in the journey of national rejuvenation.
